There is not a place that you can go in the world and not find a Jamaican. A lot of times they bunch together an create a bad name for the island. However there are others of us who blend in to be productive citizens of the country that we inhabit.
I recently visited the island as a tourist and thought to myself, "Wow if all the Jamaicans in the world were to return home to the island, forget about the infrastructure not being able to cope, I don't believe they would all fit.
According the census in 2021 there is close to 3 million people living on the island. I believe there are way more than that living outside the island.
Although Wikipedia puts the number at around 2 million. I find that very hard to believe. I have traveled to several countries and I have found a population of Jamaicans everywhere that I have gone. In my defense I don't know what a million people look like.
So Wikipedia could very well be right, but the population living outside of the Island just seem like nuf nuff more than what presently live on the island..
Dat's all I have to say.
What are your thoughts?
