Do other peoples get the Jamaican Itis?

The "itis" phenomenon is not unique to Jamaicans and is not limited to any culture or ethnicity. The term "itis" is used colloquially to describe a feeling of drowsiness or sluggishness that can occur after eating a large, heavy meal, especially one that is high in carbohydrates or sugar. People from all cultures and backgrounds may experience the "itis," although it may be more commonly associated with certain types of cuisine or comfort foods that are commonly consumed in particular cultures. So while the "itis" is often associated with Jamaican cuisine, it is not limited to Jamaicans, and the experience can be shared by anyone who indulges in a hearty meal.
