You stay drenched in the heat of the sun, consequently your body utilized most if not all the sugar you consumed that day.
Back in the day you had to walk at least a mile to get to the bust stop. Which meant you had to walk a mile to and then another mile from the bus-stop. Not to mention the mile you had to walk just to get to your location. Consequently Jamaicans did a lot of walking.
No need for additional exercise with the amount of walking exercise we do daily just for daily activities.
Our foods are not that fattening either. Jamaica feast on a variety of fruits and vegetables which are no that fattening, even if you eat a lot of it.
The high intake of fruits and veggies meant that our diet was high in fiber. Consequently we had frequent bowel movements. This was only aided by the constant walking.
The Jamaicans that I knew were not rich consequently junk food was not in abundant supply. Consequently we ate more of the healthy stuff which grew wild all around us.
With such a recipe. How is a Jamaican supposed to get fat?
Being suggests abundance and superfluousness. Only the good stuff was available in plenteous supply in Jamaica.
