Pig, Cow, and Sheep lived in a sunny meadow, where the grass was green, the flowers were bright, and a clear stream gurgled nearby. Pig loved to roll in mud puddles, Cow enjoyed munching sweet clover, and Sheep liked to nibble the tender blades of grass. They thought their home was the most perfect place in the world.
One afternoon, a strong wind blew through the meadow. It wasn't just leaves that flew; soon, bits of colorful plastic, crinkly wrappers, and even an old, broken toy started landing among the flowers. Pig snorted as a shiny bag got caught on his ear. Cow nearly stepped on a sharp piece of something hard. Sheep, trying to eat, found a piece of plastic tangled in her favorite patch of clover.
"Ugh, what's all this stuff?" grumbled Pig, trying to shake a wrapper off his snout.
"It's making our beautiful meadow messy," mooed Cow sadly, looking at a bright red cup floating in their clear stream.
Sheep, ever observant, noticed something even more worrying. A tiny bird was trying to build its nest, but it was struggling with a long, thin piece of string that seemed stuck to its leg. "Oh, dear!" she bleated. "This isn't just messy; it's hurting the animals!"
The three friends knew they couldn't just stand by. Their home, and the homes of all the little creatures, were in trouble.
"We have to do something!" Pig declared, feeling a surge of determination.
Cow nodded. "But what can we do? There's so much of it!"
Sheep, who often thought carefully, had an idea. "Maybe if we all work together, we can clean up our part of the meadow. And then, we can make sure it stays clean."
So, they began. Pig used his strong snout to push wrappers into a pile. Cow carefully picked up bigger pieces with her mouth and carried them to where Pig was piling things. Sheep, with her nimble lips, gently pulled plastic off plants and helped the little bird get free from the string. It was hard work, and sometimes they felt tired, but they kept going, thinking of their clean stream and happy bird friends.
By sunset, their section of the meadow looked much better. The stream sparkled, the flowers stood tall, and the little bird sang a cheerful song from its almost-built nest. They still saw some trash further away, but they had made a big difference right where they lived.
"It feels good to help," Pig said, flopping down, tired but happy.
"Our home is precious," Cow added softly, "and it's important to protect it."
Sheep nodded, looking at the clean grass. "And all living things."
From that day on, Pig, Cow, and Sheep became the meadow's guardians. They made sure to keep their area tidy, and if they ever saw new trash, they worked together to clean it up. They learned that caring for the environment wasn't just a big grown-up job; it was something everyone, even three friends in a sunny meadow, could do to keep their planet healthy and happy for all.
