Jesus had twelve disciples, called the 12 apostles. The 12 foundations in heaven of the heavenly Jerusalem would go on to be named after these individuals.
So rightly so the church makes a big deal about them.
However who were these apostles?
Their names were
Simon (called Peter) and his brother Andrew
James and John (sons of thunder)
Philip,
Thomas
Matthew
James son of Alpheus
(Thaddeus) Judas son of James
Simon
and then Judas Iscariot (who betrayed Christ)
Bartholomew
For most of Christendom, the names of Peter, Matthew, and Judas Iscariot are pretty well known. There were a few statements here and there of the other disciples and a few acts which were recorded in the book of Acts.
However. my point is, that not a whole lot is written about the everyday life of the disciples. You don't have to have the front page. All you have to do is glorify God in your little Corner. You don't have to be the brightest star, just commit to doing the right.
